Despite the claims of the Prime Minister that the Emergencies Act was introducing temporary government powers, he has been contradicted quickly by Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister, and future Liberal Leadership hopeful Chrystia Freeland.

“Some of those tools we will be putting forward measures to put those tools permanently in place. The authorities of FINTRAC, I believe, do need to be expanded to cover crowd sourcing platforms.” – Freeland press conference, Feb 18, 2022

Minister Freeland said the quiet part out loud, and revealed the true Liberal agenda.

The Emergencies Act is simply the latest in a pattern of Trudeau Liberal power grabs:

In March 2020, the Liberals introduced an unprecedented Bill to give itself unlimited powers to tax Canadians and spend public money without Parliamentary approval for 21 months. If passed, that would have only expired in December 2021. Fortunately, Conservatives stopped them. (Read about it in the CBC.)

Instead of coming up with a plan to deal with COVID, the Liberals took the opportunity to monitor cellphone data. (Read about in the National Post.)
