Impact of Inflation on Manufacturers | April 14, 2022

Canadian manufacturers and exporters continue to face high inflation rates, supply chain disruptions, and critical labour shortages. Budget 2022 fails to do enough to address any of these issues.

According to the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, a recent member survey noted that:

– Supply chain disruptions have resulted in sales losses of more than $10.5 Billion;

– 90 per cent of Canadian manufacturers say they are experiencing supply chain disruptions; and,

– The manufacturing sector has a record high 81,000 job vacancies.

Under this NDP-Liberal government, Canadian manufacturers and exporters are paying more for materials, cannot get products to global markets, and have 81,000 manufacturing job vacancies because Canada does not have enough skilled workers.

Instead of lowering the cost for manufacturers and exporters to do business in Canada, this NDP-Liberal government doubled down on uncontrolled spending and higher taxes, which will continue to fuel inflation and make the cost of everything more expensive.
