So does meaningful reconciliation. Canadians should not be forced to choose between the two.

 

Recent court decisions and federal agreements have raised fair questions about how Aboriginal title and private property rights will work together going forward.

 

That does not mean spreading fear.

 

It means asking for clarity.

 

If you own a home, farm, business, or property, you should know your title is secure.

 

Conservatives are calling on the federal government to clearly protect fee-simple property rights, provide a plan for Canadians affected by these decisions, and ensure future agreements include clear protections for existing property owners.

 

Reconciliation and property rights can both be respected.

 

Canadians deserve certainty.
