12,000 Travel Advisors with Zero Sector Specific Aid | May 11, 2021
Today I had the privilege of bringing forward a vitally important petition, representing over 12,000 Canadians who have been left behind by this Liberal government’s mismanagement of the Covid-19 pandemic response.
This petition seeks to rectify the wrong and grant much-needed support to these hardworking business owners who have been abandoned by the Trudeau Government. It calls for sector-specific funding to get well overdue support to Canadian Travel Advisors, and to extend the qualifications for the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund to include Sole Proprietors.
Fourteen months ago, as Covid hit our shores, PM Trudeau told Canadians “we are in this together”. These Travel Advisors are not asking for much, only to be treated on par with all Canadians, and receive this essential business support before they are forced into bankruptcy.
I look forward to the Government’s response to this critically important issue. “
