Another Bill Delayed, Jobs Hurt | Aug 12, 2021
At a time when Canada needs to focus on securing jobs and an economic recovery, Justin Trudeau is delaying the opportunity to create jobs and new income for Canadian businesses.
The bill legalizing single sports betting became law at the end of June.
Offshore gaming sites and sportsbooks operated by criminal organizations bring in $38 million dollars of Canadian wagers every day. Instead of quickly enacting a law that would redirect that money to Canadian jobs and businesses, Justin Trudeau is allowing billions of dollars a year to fall into the hands of big multinational companies and criminals.
I am calling on the Liberal government to immediately enact this legislation and ensure Canadians can legally place a sports bet in Canada that benefits #Windsor & Essex workers and businesses.
