Lest We Forget | Nov 11, 2019

Somme, Vimy, Dieppe, Passcendaele. Places that I have never visited but names I will never forget.

It was there that soldiers fought for our freedom. It was there that many died that we might live.

The Good Book says “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”

These men and women loved well. They served well. They willingly and bravely left behind their families to go and to lay down their life for you and for me.

We remember those who have fallen. It is today that we say thank you to all of those who have served and those who courageously continue to serve.

We are truly grateful for the sacrifice of these but also acknowledge their families – the parents and grandparents, the brothers and sisters, the spouses, the children that also sacrificed and gave and bravely continued on.

We MUST remember. We MUST honour the sacrifice of our brave men and women in uniform. We WILL purpose to remember for these and for our future generations. Lest we forget.
