Volunteer Firefighters’ Tax Credit:
This is a 15% non-refundable tax credit based on an amount of $3,000 for volunteer firefighters who perform at least 200 hours of service per year. Delivered by the previous Conservative government, the option to claim the exempt amount of up to $1,000 for honorarium will remain in lieu of the credit, if desired.
Search and Rescue Volunteer Tax Credit:
This is a 15% non-refundable tax credit based on an amount of $3,000 to acknowledge the valuable contributions of ground, air and marine search and rescue volunteers, who perform at least 200 hours of service per year. Delivered by the previous Conservative government, the option to claim the exempt amount of up to $1,000 for honorarium will remain in lieu of the credit, if desired.
