Local Businesses Will Drive Canada’s Economic Recovery | Jun 25, 2020

Conservatives believe it should always pay to work.

That is why we are proposing to make the Canada Emergency Response Benefit more flexible and generous by introducing the Back to Work Bonus.

Under our plan, Canadians who lost their jobs through no fault of their own during the pandemic and currently qualify for the CERB will continue to receive their full $2,000 each month. In addition, as businesses reopen, workers who make between $1,000 and $5,000 per month would qualify for the Back to Work Bonus, a CERB top-up that would gradually be phased out by 50 cents for every extra dollar earned over the $1,000 threshold.
