Visiting Local Dairy Farm and Dairy Farmers of Ontario Board Member | Sep 1, 2020
As many of you know, my family were dairy farmers. Today I enjoyed a visit to Bally Bright Farms, in Woodslee, to speak with Vicky Morrison, a board member of the Dairy Farmers of Ontario.
As well as having a lot of fun meeting the livestock, we discussed the failure of the government to follow through on promises to the Dairy Farmers across Canada. The government has still not notified the dairy farmers of compensation for this year for CETA & CPTPP. The current federal government broke its promise to implement the new CUSMA, in August. To add to the problems, they have not yet compensated dairy farmers for the CUSMA deal.
We hope to be able to help get dairy back on the government’s radar!
