QP: Manufacturers Need Immediate Action on the Border | Mar 26, 2021

Manufacturers are an essential part of our economy. They follow strict Covid protocols to protect our supply chain and the flow of goods. They have gone above and beyond to do their part to prevent the spread of Covid yet still face uncertainty, lengthy quarantines and hefty fines when crossing the Canada-US border to transact their essential business. These border measures are an unnecessary burden imposed by their own Government. They need action now! Well-paying jobs are at stake!

Their burden is mine. It is an honour to be their voice in Ottawa. I came to Ottawa this week carrying the signatures of 1000 local business owners and their workers petitioning this Government to take immediate action on the border. Today, I stood in the House on their behalf. I asked the Minister of Public Safety, “ When is this government going to give clear and concise direction to CBSA and PHAC before more jobs and contracts are lost due to their inaction?”

Watch below. More non-answers. The Liberals just don’t get it, or they just don’t care. These business owners and their workers are essential to our economy. Rest assured, I will keep the pressure on!
