Manufacturing Jobs Hurt by Government Economic Failures | June 14, 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Ed Fast, Conservative Shadow Minister for Finance, and Luc Berthold, Conservative Shadow Minister for the Treasury Board, issued the following statement on Canadian manufacturing sales falling over two per cent in April:

“Justin Trudeau’s failures to secure Canada’s economy continue to pile up. Not only have we seen two straight months of major job losses, but Canadian manufacturing sales have dropped by over two per cent in April.

“The report released by Statistics Canada points to the fact that the loss of sales was felt in over half of Canadian manufacturing industries. This is Justin Trudeau’s record on the economy – job losses and declining businesses.

“Canadians can’t afford more of the same from Justin Trudeau. In order for the Canadian economy to recover, we need job creation and long-term growth in every sector and in every part of the country. We need a plan to safely reopen our economy and lift COVID-19 restrictions in areas of federal jurisdiction.

“Canada’s Conservatives will secure the future by ensuring that Canadian manufacturing flourishes and jobs are created. If you’re not worried about the impact Justin Trudeau’s policies are having on Canadian manufacturing jobs, you have three parties to choose from. If you are, you only have one: Canada’s Conservatives.”
