When will the government begin to re-open Small Vessel Reporting Sites? | May 6, 2022
My question in the House of Commons this morning. As we get ready for the summer season: when will the government re-open small vessel reporting sights?
Mr. Speaker: the quantity of Small Vessel Reporting Sites was at 400 pre-pandemic and that was cut to just 84 sites during the pandemic. As boating season opens up boats will have to travel hundreds of kilometres to report their vessel. The government is needlessly adding emissions to the environment, stifling our economy, and possibly putting boaters in dangerous situations if the weather changes while they are attempting to reach one of the few sites that are currently available. Mr. Speaker: when will the government begin to re-open Small Vessel Reporting Sites?
