Conservative MP Ed Fast’s Private Member’s Bill C-314, was defeated in the House of Common today. The goal was to protect the mentally ill against the government’s euthanasia policies.
While my colleagues and I voted in favour to stop this expansion of MAID, Justin Trudeau continues to ignore Conservative warnings. The Liberal approach to MAID expansion is rushed and irresponsible.
Experts have been clear that MAID for mental illness cannot be implemented safely. It is impossible to determine that an individual’s mental illness will never respond to treatment.

Conservatives do not believe that MAID is an acceptable solution to mental illness and psychological suffering. Chris and his Conservatives will stand on the side of most vulnerable and their loved ones.
