I was proud to participate in the Windsor-Essex June 27th Miracle Day! Thank you to all of the volunteers across the region who went out of their way to help so many others today.
The passage of my colleagues Kevin Waugh, MP Private Member’s Bill is a victory. For too long, black market bookmakers and offshore websites have had a monopoly on single-event betting. It’s time that Canadians take back this massive market.
House of Commons Session Ended: Time to Get Back Out! | June 24, 2021

I had a very special visitor to my office today – Elise Harding Davis. Elise possesses a wealth of knowledge of the history of the early refugees fleeing slavery in the US and can trace her own ancestry in Essex County back seven generations.
The petitioners’ concerns relate not to the intent of Bill C-6, which they strongly support, but rather to the chilling effect the broad definition contained in Bill C-6 may have on counsel from parents and teachers, as well as professionals and religious counselling that is voluntary and with full consent.

Liberals Almost Shutdown C-10’s Debate | June 4, 2021
Today, the Liberals tried to shut down debate on C-10. Conservatives pushed back hard and succeeded in stalling this move. Call or email the Minister responsible for this attack.
This extreme tactic has only been used three times in history – with no government having used this tactic for over 20 years. Shutting down debate on a bill widely condemned for its attacks on freedom of speech sets a very dangerous precedent.
So many mothers have lost their jobs during the pandemic. Those still working have reduced hours and may not qualify. New mothers and pregnant woman currently receiving EI benefits may be forced back to work within weeks of giving birth.
The news of the remains of 215 children found in a mass grave at a former residential school in Kamloops has shaken our nation. Today, on Parliament Hill, I paid my respects at the Centennial Flame memorial. I did so on behalf of my family and the people of Essex.
