July 2023 News

Yesterday’s storm has affected so many | July 27, 2023

I have been in contact with the Mayors of Essex and Kingsville. My power is out as well. Crews are working tirelessly to restore power. I’ve dropped off the remainder of my generators to keep fridges and freezers cold. Hang tight folks.

We will get through this.

Our vision for change | July 26, 2023

After 8 years of Trudeau & the NDP, the cost of living has escalated, and city streets are plagued with crime, chaos, and drug-related issues. Our vision for change:
1. Eliminate Trudeau’s tax hikes to alleviate financial burdens.
2. Implement stricter measures to end catch and release, ensuring law and order prevail.
3. Allocate funds for recovery and treatment programs to eradicate drugs from the streets.

Together, we can build a safer, more prosperous community for all.

Muscedere Vineyard | July 25, 2023

Lunch today at Muscedere (pronounced Moo-shed-ray, in case you were wondering 😉).

Navigating up the winding drive, through rows of grape vines, is a wonderful preview of the hidden garden patio. Oven fired pizza is on the menu accompanied by a full wine list!

If you have never visited Muscedere, I would encourage you to take time this summer to stop for a bottle, a tasting or a meal!

There is always an opportunity to celebrate! | July 24, 2023

Dinner out with our dear friends Fran and Mark. Celebrating their birthdays at O’ Sarracino Trattoria and Wine Bar in Kingsville!

Great food! Great friends! Great celebration!

Touring Lilac Row Farms | July 19, 2023

Tonight I was joined by my good friend and colleague, Dave Epp, MP Chatham-Kent-Leamington at the Twilight Meeting presented by the Essex-Kent Milk Producers. We appreciated the tour of the updated, family run dairy farm. It was a great opportunity to discuss, with the local dairy farmers, the economic growth and employment opportunities within the local dairy industry.

Thank you, Lilac Row Farms for hosting this great evening!

Meeting with Jamieson | July 18, 2023

As a major employer in Essex-Windsor and a top provider of natural health products in Canada, it was imperative that I meet with Jamieson regarding the proposed changes by Health Canada.

Thank you Mike and Megan for a thoughtful and informative discussion. I look forward to working with you as we protect industry, jobs and Canadians.

50 Years of ERCA | July 15, 2023

Celebrating 50 years of conservation with ERCA at the John R Park Homestead on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. As a former ERCA board member, I understand the importance of the work and appreciate the vision for the Essex Region to be ” a sustainable, resilient and vibrant place with healthy and thriving watersheds, Great Lakes and a green culture.”

Making a splash at the Belle River Sunsplash parade! | July 15, 2023

Not a lot of sun today, but at least the rain held off for most of the parade! It was great to see the Belle River residents brave the elements to show their community spirit!

I met a lot of fine folks along the parade route and shared some treats with many fur friends along the way.

Captain for the day | July 13, 2023

Pelee Island – a gem in our Great Lakes! The ferry ride is the porthole for the magic of the Island experience!

Thank you, Captain and Crew for the tour of the helm!

Common sense Conservatives | July 12, 2023

The expensive coalition between Trudeau and the NDP persists in increasing taxes on gasoline, food, and heating expenses. The Conservatives, on the other hand, aim to eliminate the tax in order to reduce prices for consumers.
