Energy in Canada | March 21, 2022

Energy supplies from Canada are critical to our national security — and that of Europe. Liberals, on the other hand, voted no today on a Conservative opposition day motion calling on the Trudeau government to take steps to ensure that Canadian natural gas may be exported to Europe to replace Russian natural gas. Getting Canadian natural gas to tidewater is vital to Canada’s security. It’s vital to our economy. Getting more low-carbon natural gas to market is also consistent with our environmental goals in the transition to non-emitting sources of energy.

Trade with Taiwan | March 3, 2022

It was an honour to meet with Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada Director, Winston Wen-yi Chen, this afternoon. We had a very promising discussion on how we can help increase trade between Canada and Taiwan. Our nations have complementary areas of trade and I am hopeful that we can build on our trade relations further and make the world a better place. I had no idea that our biggest export to Taiwan is our quality pork!! The Taiwanese people know good food when they taste it. Thank you, Winston. I look forward to meeting with you again.
