It was a good and informative meeting this afternoon with Essex Non-Profit Homes regarding the rewards and challenges in providing and maintaining affordable housing.

Good Neighbor Club | June 22, 2025

“Leaving the world a better place than you found it.”

Each year the Good Neighbour Club in Belle River recognizes exemplary seniors that do just that!

This year’s recipients, Theresa (Terry) Barrette, Bonnie Rawson, Suzanne Leach and Tom Leach, are recognized for their many years of service in the community. Thank you for all you do to make this world a better place.

St. John the Evangelist Parish | June 22, 2025

Congratulations to St. John the Evangelist Parish, in Woodslee, for 150 years of serving our community through faith, food and fellowship. It was an honour to celebrate this amazing milestone with you.

Conservative Victory | June 19, 2025

Conservatives shut down a major Liberal loophole.

The Liberals tried to sneak clauses into Bill C-5 that would’ve let Cabinet ministers dodge key laws—like the Lobbying Act, Criminal Code, and Conflict of Interest Act—when approving projects that could benefit them personally.

Conservatives fought back and passed a common sense amendment to protect taxpayers and stop insider deals.

This move blocks Ministers from bypassing rules under 15+ key acts, including laws around ethics, elections, foreign influence, hazardous products, and more.

This isn’t hypothetical. The Prime Minister has already admitted to conflicts from his time at Brookfield, and even senior government staff confirmed they’re managing his “declared conflicts.”

Canadians deserve transparency—not backroom benefits for Liberal insiders.

Conservatives will keep fighting to get major projects built the right way—without corruption—and scrap the bad policies that hold Canada back, like the oil & gas cap, C-69, and the carbon tax.

Safari Club International | June 18, 2025

Great to host Safari Club International – SCI in my Ottawa Office, today.

Question Period Visitors | June 17, 2025

Colin Stapley and his siblings saw the House in action during a very spirited Question Period!

We followed this with a mini-tour of West Block that took us to the Room of Remembrance, my favourite place – a room of thoughtful reflection and deep gratitude.

Parade of the Mace | June 17, 2025

One of the joys and privileges of serving the people of Essex is the opportunity to meet with them in Ottawa and take them on a tour.

This tour provided a special moment as we happened upon the daily Parade of the Mace into the House of Commons. Thanks to Bob and Aline Sealy for a great visit and the quick capture of the Parade!

ZEV Mandates | June 17, 2025

The house voted on our Conservative motion to repeal the Liberals ZEV mandates.
By 2035, the Liberals are mandating 100% of all vehicle sales be electric—banning gas-powered cars altogether. This will drive up costs by as much as $20,000 per vehicle and leave many Canadians without real choices.
Do you support a full EV mandate, or should Canadians be free to choose what they drive?

Conservative Auto Caucus | June 16, 2025

First Conservative Auto Caucus of the 45th Parliament.

Thank you Canadian Automobile Dealers Association, Global Automakers of Canada and canadian Vehicle Manufacturers Association for in depth conversation ensuring our manufacturers and jobs flourish and are protected.

Happy Father’s Day | June 15, 2025

Happy Father’s Day!

Today we celebrate the incredible fathers, stepdads, grandfathers, and father figures who lead with strength, love, and quiet sacrifice.

From coaching on the field to guiding through life’s toughest moments, your impact runs deep—and your example shapes the next generation.

Wishing all dads in the riding of Essex and across Canada a well-deserved day of appreciation and joy.

Conservative Hunting and Anglers Caucus | June 13, 2025

It is my honour to be named Vice Chair of the Conservative Hunting and Anglers Caucus.
I look forward to continue being an advocate for Sportsmen and Women’s rights while protecting our Canadian Heritage.

Auditor General Report | June 11, 2025

The Auditor General released her report “Professional Services Contracts with GCStrategies Inc” which confirmed Conservatives’ worst fears. As the report states, “We concluded that professional services contracts awarded, and payments made by federal organizations to GCStrategies and other companies incorporated by its co-founders were not in accordance with applicable policy instruments and that value for money for these contracts was not obtained.”

We thank the Auditor General for ending the Liberal coverup with this 2nd investigation into GC Strategies. The Liberals voted against allowing the Auditor-General to investigate GC Strategies, but despite their opposition, the Conservative Party passed a motion through the House of Commons requesting the Auditor General investigate ArriveScam on November 2, 2022.

Canadian Canola Growers Association | June 10, 2025

I met with the representatives from Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA).

Good conversation centered around the effects of tariffs, carbon tax and transport for canola farmers and the canola industry.

LaSalle Strawberry Festival | June 10, 2025

I had a blast starting the summer parade season with the Town of LaSalle Strawberry Festival!

We saw many friends and fur friends along the parade route! Thanks LaSalle for a wonderful summer kick-off!

Conservative Motion | June 10, 2025

Members of Parliament voted on a Conservative opposition day motion calling for the government to present a fiscally responsible budget before the summer recess. The motion follows last week’s release of the $486 billion Main Estimates and this week’s $9 billion Supplementary Estimates, which included increased defence spending. The motion highlights rising food costs and urges the government to reverse inflationary policies to make life more affordable for Canadians.

Kingsville Military Museum | June 7, 2025

Kingsville Military Museum honours D-Day, kicks off $700K expansion campaign
Essex MP Chris Lewis, who attended the event, said it’s critical to keep these lessons alive for the next generation.

“It’s so vital for our young adults, our youth, future generations to remember all of the sacrifice to allow for our sovereignty and our freedom,” Lewis explained. “There are so many families that lost so much. And we have a real opportunity to really put Essex right in the middle of something really awesome and really huge.”

ConGRADulations! | June 6, 2025

To all the college and university graduates—what an incredible milestone you’ve reached! Your hard work, late nights, and dedication have paid off, and today marks the beginning of a brand-new chapter.

As you step forward, remember: the world needs your ideas, your compassion, and your courage. Wherever life leads you, strive to leave things better than you found them. Be bold enough to lead, kind enough to lift others, and wise enough to keep learning.

The future is brighter because of you.
Chris Lewis

Liberal Spending | June 3, 2025

Mark Carney promised to cap spending at 2% — now it’s ballooning to 8%, totaling $486 BILLION — all without a spring budget. Canadians deserve transparency. Conservatives are calling on the Liberal government to release a full budget and show the real numbers.

Will the Carney Liberals listen to Parliament, or keep hiding the truth?

 535 Leamington Archer Squadron | June 3, 2025

Liberal “tax cut”| June 2, 2025

The Liberal government introduced watered-down tax measures that echo long-standing Conservative proposals—proof we’re winning the debate. While their so-called “tax cut” barely covers a coffee, we’re pushing for real relief: axing the carbon tax, cutting GST on new homes, and delivering meaningful income tax reductions. Conservatives will keep fighting for common sense policies that put Canadians first and make life more affordable.

Essex Gospel Community Church | June 1, 2025

It was a joy to celebrate 100 years with the congregation of Essex Gospel Community Church!
