October 2023 News
Four years! | Oct 21, 2023
Four years ago today, I was elected to represent the people of Essex, in Parliament. It is an honour to serve, advocate and represent you from your seat in the House of Commons. I am grateful for the incredible people that have joined me in this journey to leave the world a better place than I found it!
Here’s to the next four years and more.
Call for balance | Oct 19, 2023
This week, the House debated a Conservative motion calling on the government to introduce a fiscal plan that includes a pathway back to balanced budgets. The government must introduce a plan to balance the budget before the next Bank of Canada interest rate decision to decrease inflation and interest rates, and to introduce this in the House of Commons. According to Budget 2023, Canada’s debt-to-GDP ratio is projected to increase from 42.4 percent in 2022-2023 to 43.5 percent in 2023-2024.
Only common sense Conservatives will bring home powerful paycheques for workers by ending the wasteful spending, balancing the budget, and bringing home lower prices and interest rates for Canadians.
Meeting CREA | Oct 16, 2023
In Ottawa this morning, I met with members of the The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) to discuss Canada’s ongoing housing crisis, specifically how it is seen in Windsor-Essex County. We discussed how CREA has facilitated conversation with all three levels of government, developers, and potential home buyers and their challenge to think outside the box as we all work to resolve this crisis.
Let’s bring it home!

It’s Small Business Week in Canada, and we’re celebrating the heart and soul of our economy—our small businesses!
These resilient entrepreneurs drive innovation, create jobs, and shape the character of our communities. Let’s show them some love this week and beyond by shopping local, sharing their stories, and recognizing their dedication.
World Mental Health Day | Oct 10, 2023
Let’s break the stigma surrounding mental health and promote a culture of care, compassion, and understanding. Your mental well-being matters, and it’s okay to seek help or offer support to those who need it. Let’s strive to create a world where everyone can openly discuss their mental health, where empathy knows no bounds, and where we prioritize self-care.
Together, we can make mental health a priority every day.
