Exploring the Port of Windsor | Dec 23, 2021
The Port of Windsor is such an integral part of trade and commerce in our area. Thank you to Steve Salmons President & CEO of the Port for your hospitality and presentation yesterday. It was an eye-opening meeting to see how fortunate we are to have such a great port right here in the Windsor-Essex region. I also appreciated meeting Walter Benzinger and Anthony Mascaro from the Port of Windsor board. We look forward to working with you in the future as you develop the Port and its role in our region!!
Auto Drive America | Dec 22, 2021
This morning I had a very informative meeting with Jennifer Safavian, President of Auto Drive America. We spoke about many topics but first and foremost we covered the issue of the tax credit that will be given to those who buy made-in-America electric vehicles within the US. Not to mention the negative impact it will have on Canada it will also have impact on those workers in the US who work for international auto companies and sell electric vehicles. I will be working on this issue in my role on the International Trade Committee. Thank you Jennifer for the insightful conversation from a US perspective!
Autonomous Cars!?! | Dec 21, 2021
Thank you to Stephen Mackenzie for hosting us at The Automobility & Innovation Centre this afternoon. I was impressed by the technology we are now using to test autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, vehicle safety, and so much more. The virtual reality cave is helping small and medium-sized companies become competitive as we advance into the next automotive era. Well done to the whole team at the centre for using Federal and Provincial money to the max and carrying the flame for the automotive industry in Windsor-Essex.
