Liberals Deny They Are Planning a Housing Tax | Jul 21, 2020
Media are reporting that the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) is spending $250,000 to study the prospect of a first-ever federal home equity tax that would see residences taxed as capital gains.
At their policy convention, Liberals proposed a 50 per cent capital gains tax on the sale of residential homes.
